SAN FRANCISCO -- Autodesk has officially withdrawn its bid to acquire Altium, the latter acknowledged today in a public filing.

“In response to media speculation today, Altium Limited advises that it has not received any further offer from Autodesk,” Altium wrote in filing on the ASX Exchange.

Autodesk in June made a public offer for Altium valuing the PCB design software company at $38.50 per share, or roughly $3.9 billion. Altium rejected the bid as too low, while saying it would consider higher offers.

Altium reportedly rejected a subsequent offer by Autodesk of $40 per share.
