TORONTOPFC Flexible Circuits has expanded its assembly capacity and capabilities.

The firm has completed the installation of an additional automated assembly line consisting of a DEK printer, Panasonic pick-and-place system, Folungwin reflow oven, Cluso optical vision inspection/verification system, and an Ascentech ionic contamination test system.

The assembly line supports smaller package sizes such as 0201s and is capable of placing 1005s in the future.

PFC’s capabilities include single, double and multi-layer flex as well as rigid flex. The firm’s specialties are fine-line technology, impedance Control, and SMT flex assembly.

CLARE, IRELANDPCB-Pool has introduced a new metal core (insulated metal substrate) PCB prototyping service.

Designers of high-intensity LEDs, power converters, automotive applications or any circuits requiring greater heat dissipation can take advantage of reduced pricing and shorter lead-times offered within this service.

Various machining methods have been integrated in the IMS manufacturing process, including the ability to produce threaded drill holes, counter sinking and controlled depth milling using CNC technology.

The service includes one-layer IMS PCBs, various solder mask and silkscreen colors, Pb-free HASL surface finish and laser SMT stencils. For more information, visit http://www.pcb-pool.com/ppus/info_pcbpool_alupanel.html.
