CHANDLER, AZIsola USA has filed a lawsuit in US District Court accusing Taiwan Union Technology of patent infringement.

The lawsuit, filed June 26 in an Arizona court, alleges infringement of US Patent Nos. 6,509,414 ("Epoxy Resin, Styrene-Maleic Anhydride Copolymer and Co-Crosslinking Agent") and 7,897,258 ("Laminate Made from Epoxy Resin, Styrene-Maleic Anhydride Copolymer and Crosslinkers") through TUC's importing, selling and offering for sale its laminate and prepreg products in the US, including the company's TU-872 SLK product.

The complaint seeks money damages and a permanent injunction against TUC from making, using, importing, offering to sell, and selling the accused products in the US.

Isola designs and manufactures copper-clad laminates and dielectric prepreg materials used to fabricate multilayer printed circuit boards.

The two companies have battled before. In 2009, TUC settled an Isola claim over fillers by agreeing to stop using talc as filler for two of its laminates. http://pcdandf.com/cms/fabnews/5966-tuc-consents-to-be-talc-less
