TAIPEI -- Hon Hai Precision Industry (Foxconn) turned in a second-quarter net profit of T$16.7 billion ($522 million) as business continued to rebound in the electronics manufacturing sector.

The company, the world's largest provider of EMS and it a top 15 printed circuit board fabricator, saw profits jump an estimated 11%, based on company and analyst statements.

Second-quarter unconsolidated revenue was up 64% year-over-year to NT$514.53 billion ($16.1 billion).

"Despite the general uncertainty and a so-called challenging environment, under the backdrop of an increased weighting in company's consumer electronics business, the quarterly unconsolidated results were as expected and remain seasonal," said company spokesman Edmund C.A. Ding, in a statement.
