SHANGHAI -- Lenovo is changing its procurement model to one where the PC giant will directly purchase its printed circuit boards, according to media reports.

The computer maker's board fabricators say they haven't seen any changes, however.

In a report today, DigiTimes said Levono will cease using ODMs to manage its PCB procurement, citing industry sources. The report also noted that Lenovo PCB suppliers HannStar Board, and Taiwan PCB Techvest indicated they haven't seen a change in orders.

Lenovo uses Compal as an ODM.

According to the report, Lenovo plans to move some PCB production to Guangdong Goworld, Shengyi Technology and Shennan Circuit, which, like Lenovo, are based in China.
