CEDAR RAPIDS, IARockwell Collins said it would close its Collins Printed Circuit manufacturing unit as a result of dropping profits, according to published reports.

The unit will shut down production over the next six to nine months, the firm said.

The closure is expected to affect approximately 80 employees, who may apply for other positions within the company.

Employees will be given at least 30 days notice prior to termination. The company expects employees’ last days to be between September and January.
