FRANKFURT – Orders for printed circuit boards from Germany-region manufacturers increased 25% year-over-year in April, ZVEI said.

The region, which also includes Austria and Switzerland, saw a year-over-year jump of 13% in sales for the month. Sales were down 4% sequentially.

Year-to-date orders are up 8% year-over-year, and sales are up 4%, the trade group adds.

The April book-to-bill ratio reached 1.04, up 50 basis points sequentially. The ratio finished above the benchmark 1.0 figure for the fifth time in the past six months.

The number of employees in April was 2.7% higher than in the previous year.
