MANCHESTER, NH -- Electropac, the venerable printed circuit board fabricator, will be acquired by one of its key employees and will continue to operate under a new name.

Paul LaLiberte will acquire the assets of the company, change the name and continue its operations, president and founder Ray Boissoneau told PCD&F today.

LaLiberte joined Electropac as operations manager in 2011. He was president and general manager of Trans/Circuits in Florida from 1988 to 2005. His father, Joe, hired Boissoneau at Sanders, several years prior to the founding of Electropac.

In 1976, after several years in a variety of roles in the electronics industry, Boissoneau launched Electropac. At its peak the company generated annual revenue of $55 million and had seven shops in the US, UK and Canada. However, the migration of production to China adversely affected the company, which now owns a single shop in Manchester.

In June, PCD&F published a look at the company's PCB Museum, which features relics from its early days of circuit board fabrication.
