TAIPEI -- The deadly fire last weekend at Chin Poon's plant here was the 11th blaze recorded at domestic fabricators over the past eight years, according to local media accounts.

The blaze at Chin Poon's plant in Taoyuan killed seven, including two workers and five firefighters who were trapped in the building.

It marked the 11th time since 2010 that emergency personnel has been called to put out fires at the nation's circuit board plants. Other fires reported were at ITEQ, Compeq Manufacturing, Gold Circuit (twice), Unitech (twice), Unimicron, Wus Printed Circuit and Tripod Technology (twice). Also, Taiwan PCB Techvest (TPT) reported a fire at its plant in Suzhou, and Zhen Ding (ZDT) sustained one in Jiangsu in 2015.

In addition, the same Chin Poon plant caught fire in 2000. That time, there were no reported injuries.
