TOKYO -- Nippon Mektron will fully acquire Nitto Denko (Suzhou) Co. in May for an undisclosed price.

Nippon Mektron already has a large flex circuit plant in Suzhou. The company did not indicate whether the Nitto Denko plant would be consolidated.

Nitto Denko also has plants in Saigon and two in Japan.

Nippon Mektron is the world's largest fabricator, with overall sales (including flex assembly) of $3.4 billion in 2016. Its fiscal 2017 revenue report is due following the close of its fiscal year in March. Nitto Denko ranked 40th on the NTI 100 in 2016, with sales of $398 million. Its sales have been falling since their peak of $684 million in 2014.
