MILPITAS, CA – North America-based manufacturers of semiconductor equipment posted $1.86 billion in billings worldwide in January (three-month average basis), up 52.3% year-over-year and down 0.5% sequentially, according to SEMI.

“Global billings reported by the North American equipment makers begin the New Year at high levels," said Denny McGuirk, president and CEO of SEMI. “We expect strong spending growth in 2017 based on investments in leading-edge memory and foundry fabs.”

SEMI ceased publishing the monthly North America Book-to-Bill report in January.
