As the technological content of automobiles rises, the number of automated control platforms continues to expand. Automotive electronics plays a key role in automobile communication, intelligent control and tele-informatic services. It is also integral to improving the performance, safety and manipulation of automobiles by integrating electronic, automobile, information, computer and network technologies into one.
Experts agree that the automotive electronics industry is one of significant potential. Currently, the cost proportion of automotive electronics in finished automobiles continues to increase, accounting for approximately 25% to 50% of some limousines.
China has replaced America as the world’s largest automobile market. China's auto market topped $47 billion in 2011, and iSuppli estimates automotive electronics sales there will reach $29.9 billion in 2015. Estimates show that in the next five years, the automotive electronics content in China’s traditional auto market will grow from 18.6% to 32%. In the new energy auto field, costs are expected to top 45%, which will bring huge opportunities and challenges to automotive electronics manufacturers.
