COLD SPRING HARBOR, NY – China’s printed circuit board equipment and materials industry posted revenue of $18.5 billion in 2010, good for 37% of the global market.

China’s market-leading share is expected to climb to 44% by 2015, to revenue of $30.9 billion. The country recorded a nearly 10% CAGR between 2006 and 2010, versus a global rate of about 3%, says Prismark Partners.

Worldwide PCB production will reach $54.6 billion by the end of 2011, up 7% year-over-year, on strong demand in consumer and industrial sectors, says Prismark. The firm forecasts a 2015 market of $69.8 billion, a CAGR of almost 7%.

China’s PCB testing and shape-processing equipment, valued at $900 million last year, is projected to rise to $1.6 billion after five years, with the CAGR hitting 11%.
Globally, the category will hit $3.6 billion, up 44% from 2010. Global PCB equipment growth will reach $16.9 billion, up 43.2%, according to the China Printed Circuit Association.

Makers of PCB equipment in China offer preproduction, electroplating, exposure, laser and mechanical drilling, laminating, shaping, etching, silk-screen, surface processing and testing machines. Sales of these reached $4.3 billion in 2010, up 59.3% from 2006, says the Industrial Economics and Knowledge Center. The category’s market scale will be $7.6 billion by 2015, posting an 11% CAGR last year, exceeding the global average.

China’s PCB materials business will grow 10% annually, reaching $10.7 billion by 2015.
