DUBLIN -- Global computer-aided engineering sales are expected to grow at a CAGR of 6.5% between 2010 and 2014, a new report says.

The market is being driven by the huge demand generated from developing countries says Technavio, the research firm responsible for the study.

The report covers the Americas, EMEA and APAC regions.

According to Technavio, global engineering firms are setting up research, design, and production facilities in developing countries such as India, China and Brazil. Engineering firms depend on CAE software to design and develop their products. This demand for CAE software from engineering firms and their subsequent expansion of their business operations into developing countries is expected to be one of the key drivers for the growth of the Global CAE market.

Increased outsourcing of engineering services also is expected to drive the market.
