SANTA ANA, CA -- TTM Technologies exceeded guidance projections turning in fourth quarter sales of $164.9 million, down 1.5% compared to fourth quarter 2007 and down 2.4% from the previous quarter.

The fourth quarter gross profit declined slightly to $30.7 million, down to 18.6% of sales from 19.0% of sales in the third quarter and 20.7% of sales in fourth quarter 2007.

The PCB manufacturing business contributed fourth quarter net sales of $144.2 million (87.6% of sales) and the backplane assembly business contributed fourth quarter net sales of $31.1 million (12.4% of sales).

Kent Alder, president and CEO of TTM, noted, “We are pleased with our results for the fourth quarter. Although global macroeconomic conditions remain challenging, the company's highly focused strategy enabled us to continue our trend of delivering solid financial performance from our business. We generated significant cash during the quarter, and the aerospace/defense end market was again a significant part of our success.”

TTM had recently closed the Redmond, WA manufacturing operation and reduce the headcount at four other facilities by 140 as part of a restructuring plan.
