FRANKFURT -- Sales at German printed circuit board manufacturers grew 4.1% year-over-year in June, reports ZVEI PCB and Electronic Systems.
Sales rose 11% sequentially, the trade group added.
Orders rose 16% from a year ago, making it the highest order month for a June since 2010. The jump brought the year-to-date bookings ahead of last year's for the first time in 2016, up 1.2% for the first half.
Orders and sales have been aided by a higher number of workdays thus far in 2016. June had 22, versus May's total of 19, and year-to-date there have been 5% more workdays than in 2015.
Orders and shipments are calculated on a 30-day moving average.
The book-to-bill ratio rose for the fourth consecutive month, rising to 1.09, up 40 basis points from April.
The number of worked employed by German PCB fabricators decreased rose 1% sequentially, ZVEI said, almost offsetting a 1.1% drop the month before.
