SAN JOSE — The 90-day moving average worldwide semiconductor manufacturing equipment bookings fell 7% year-over-year to $8.7 billion in the third quarter.
Worldwide bookings fell 14% sequentially, according to the SEMI and Semiconductor Equipment Association of Japan trade groups, based on reports from more than 100 global equipment companies.
Billings rose 9% over last year and 3% sequentially to $9.6 billion.
A 78% year-over-year gain in China was not enough to offset sharp declines in Europe and North America.
