SAN JOSE — The 90-day moving average orders at North America-based semiconductor equipment manufacturers was $1.51 billion worldwide in June, up 3.5% from a year ago.

The book-to-bill ratio for the month was 0.98, according to SEMI today. A book-to-bill of 0.98 means that $98 worth of orders were received for every $100 of product billed for the month. A ratio below 1.0 is generally seen as an indicator of near-term weakness.

The three-month average worldwide bookings in June was down 2.6% from the revised May level.

Worldwide billings rose 16.2% over last year to $1.54 billion, but were down 1% sequentially.
