HONG KONG -- The annual HKPCA Show reported nearly 39,000 persons attended the annual three-day exhibition this year, the most in the show's 13-year history.

The show took place the first week of December at the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center.

While the event claims to be the largest in the world for the printed circuit board and electronics assembly industry, it is not clear this is the case. The JPCA Show and Productronica both tout attendance figures well above those of HKPCA, with the former stating more than 43,000 persons attending in one day last June.

Nevertheless, the show, jointly organized by the Hong Kong Printed Circuit Association, IPC and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Guangzhou Sub-council (CCPIT-GZ), is massive. Some 523 exhibitors -- occupying 2,202 booths -- consumed the 45,000 sq. m. floor area.

According to HKPCA, 2,178 booths had been reserved for the 2015 show, almost more than the total number of booths of this year.  Dates for next year's show at the Shenzhen Convention Exhibition Center are Dec. 2-4.
