WALLINGFORD, CT -- Amphenol reported second-quarter net income of $154.9 million, up from $141.9 million a year ago.
Sales during the period for the printed circuit board and connector maker were $1.14 billion, up 7% from 2012 and 5% sequentially, boosted by currency fluctuations which effectively increased sales by $2.1 million.
Sales growth over the previous year was driven by increases in most markets, led by commercial aerospace, automotive, mobile networks and broadband markets. Sequential growth was seen in IT and data communications, mobile networks, broadband, industrial and automotive markets, offset in part by modest declines in mobile devices and defense.
Amphenol guided for fiscal third-quarter revenues of $1.12 billion to $1.145 billion.
