TAIPEI – Taiwan-based printed circuit board makers are reporting mixed third-quarter results, but remain bullish on the current quarter.

Compeq posted after-tax net income of $8.6 million, up 106.5% sequentially. Unimicron's profits rose 14.2%, and Wus Printed Circuit’s increased at a single-digit rate. Compeq and Wus also expect sequential fourth-quarter revenue growth.

Meanwhile, Unitech and Tripod reported lower than expected demand. Unitech's sales dipped on lower HDI board shipments, but the firm expects shipments to peak in the fourth quarter. Tripod’s consolidated revenue dropped below $344 million, lower than expected, as a result of a mild PC market. However, the company estimates growing demand for HDI boards would increase consolidated revenue to above $341.9 million this quarter.
