AURORA, CO -- The chief executive of Advanced Circuits' parent company says PCB fabricators are well-priced and the segment is attractive for acquisitions.

On a conference call with investors, Compass Diversified Holdings' CEO Alan Offenberg said of the printed circuit industry, "[T]he assets are very attractively priced today in that sector, and from a long-term investment standpoint this is just really a great time to be a buyer. There is not a lot of competing bids out there."

Advanced Circuits has made three acquisitions in recent years, including Circuit Board Express in May 2009, Circuit Express in March 2010, and Universal Circuits in May 2012.

Offenberg added that projected US defense cuts make the PCB sector a good opportunity because it's keeping many investors on the sidelines. "What's happening in the defense space and with sequestration on the horizon starting next year, there is a lot of uncertainty. So if you will take an intermediate to longer term view, this is one of the  better investment times that we could envision in that part of the space.

"We feel this is a  pretty good time to be making investments in that arena."
