SAN JOSE – Sanmina-SCI reported fiscal third-quarter revenue ended June 30 of $1.55 billion, down 7.2% year-over-year, and up 6.2% sequentially.
GAAP net income was $8.9 million, down 5.3% compared to the same period in 2011.
GAAP operating income for the quarter was $35.4 million, or 2.3% of revenue, compared to $52.9 million, or 3.2% of revenue, for the same quarter ended July 2, 2011.
“Revenue for the third quarter was up 6% sequentially as a result of growth in a number of our key markets. However, weak demand in the components business negatively impacted profitability,” said Jure Sola, chairman and CEO. The company's Components unit includes printed circuit boards, backplanes and enclosures.
The electronics manufacturer expects fiscal fourth-quarter revenue between $1.575 billion and $1.625 billion.
