TORONTO – Firan Technology Group reported fiscal third-quarter net earnings grew 140% year-over-year to $334,000.
Sales rose 3% year-over-year to $13.7 million for the period ended Aug. 26.
Sales year-to-date were $39.7 million, up 13% over the nine-month period in 2010. Net earnings were $563,000, compared to a loss of $822,000 last year.
Sales of printed circuit boards were up 4% in the third quarter versus the same period last year. Year-to-date, PCB sales were up 11%. Net earnings for the segment were $700,000, compared to $800,000 in the third quarter last year. The company continues to spend more than 5% of sales on R&D.
Aerospace sales during the quarter were up 1% year-over-year. Year-to-date, aerospace sales were up 20%. Net earnings were $200,000 versus $100,000 in the year-ago period.
