TORONTOFiran Technology Group reported second-quarter sales of $13.9 million, up 20% year-over-year, and up 14% sequentially.

Net earnings were $422,000, compared to a net loss of $364,000 in the same quarter last year.

“Our strong growth reflects the strength of the global aerospace industry," said Brad Bourne, president and CEO.

Year-to-date, sales were $26.1 million, up 18.9% compared to the same period in 2010. Net earnings were $229,000 for the period, compared to a net loss of $960,000 last year.

For the second quarter, sales in Canada were up 120% year-over year, as legacy customers ramped up production levels across a series of aircraft platforms. Sales to Europe and Asia were up 31%.

Circuits segment sales were up $1.9 million (21%) compared to the second quarter of 2010. Sequentially, sales increased 20%.
