SAN JOSE -- Sanmina-SCI today announced the resignation of Hari Pillai, president and chief operating officer.

Effective immediately, all sales and operations will report directly to chairman and chief executive Jure Sola. Pillai will continue in a consulting capacity on terms to be determined, the electronics manufacturing services firm said in a statement.

The printed circuit board maker said its second-quarter outlook may be impacted by delays in defense projects and shipments due to Federal budget uncertainty, a recently resolved labor strike in India, and short-term softness in the optical market near the end of the quarter. The company expects revenue for the second quarter to be in the range of $1.56 billion to $1.60 billion. In January Sanmina-SCI forecast revenue of $1.625 billion to $1.67 billion.

The EMS company ranked fifth in the annual CIRCUITS ASSEMBLY Top 50.
