BANGKOK – Factory workers, some of which were formerly employed by PCB Center Co., are marching here to protest being laid off without severance.

The printed circuit board fabricator went out of business last month following a fire last June, and reportedly no state agencies urged management to compensate the laid-off staff. After the fire, the firm promised to reopen the factory, and to compensate employees for the downtime, but last month it ceased operations.

After workers started protesting, labor officials then ordered a payout to attempt to keep workers from assembling, according to published reports.
