NEW YORK -- Global printed circuit board production will grow 6% year-over-year in 2011, driven by smartphones, tablet and notebook PCs, GPS devices, and TVs, a leading researcher forecasts.

PCB sales will drop considerably from 2010, however, Prismark Partners managing partner Shiuh-Kao Chiang told DigiTimes.

The firm upped its growth outlook for 2010 sales to 22.1%, according to DigiTimes.

Chiang cautioned against manufacturers bringing on excessive capacity in the near-term.
