TAIPEI – Compal Electronics reported record numbers in September as sales rose 45.6% from last year to NT$67.35 billion (US$2.09 billion).

Notebook shipments for the month were a record 4.15 million on an increase in seasonal orders.

The first-tier notebook maker expects shipments for the year between 32 million and 35 million, up from an earlier forecast of 35 million to 36 million. Third-quarter shipments were 10.55 million.

Shipments for the fourth quarter are forecast at 11.6 million, a 10% sequential increase. October is expected to continue to see growth, with numbers starting to fall in November on seasonality.
