LEOBEN-HINTERBERG, AUSTRIA – AT&S today said its board fabrication plant here is beginning to show signs of improvement after cost-savings measures this summer.

In June, the company severely downsized, moving volume production to its facility in Shanghai, China, on increased price pressures.

AT&S today said that the measures, as well as increased sales and demand in Europe, have enabled the company to retain more capacity than originally planned. Annual production capacity is forecast at 85,000 square meters (70,000 square feet), and 100 additional employees will be added, bringing the plant’s workforce total to 700.

The company has also received new contracts. Management expects demand for its high-tech products to remain stable.
AT&S is a leading PCB manufacturer worldwide, with a focus on HDI, automotive, industrial and medical markets.
