TAIPEI – First-tier notebook maker, Compal Electronics reported notebook shipments for June rose 8% sequentially to 2.7 million units.
 
Consolidated revenues climbed almost 14% month-on-month to NT$42.93 billion (US$1.3 billion). 
 
Second-quarter notebook shipments were 7.9 million; LCD TV shipments were up 16% sequentially to 780,000 units. For the first half of the fiscal year, consolidated revenues climbed 18% to NT$236.13 billion (US$7.1 billion).
 
July and August shipments are forecast to remain stable, with shipments ramping up in September in anticipation of the launch of Windows 7-based products.
