TAIPEI, TAIWAN – It is shaping up to be a prosperous year for HannStar Board, according to DigiTimes.
 
The company reports order visibility has extended to the end of June and expects shipments to increase 15% to 25% sequentially for the quarter.
 
Notebook demand is forecast to increase in the third quarter, as new models get ready to launch.
 
HannStar plans to ship 57 million square feet of PCBs this year, compared to nearly 53 million square feet in 2008. According to the company, the China market will be influential in profit performance.
 
Shipments from its Taiwan plant are forecast to drop 28% to 3.5 million square feet, while output from the China plant are predicted to climb 11% to 53.5 million square feet, reports the company. 
 
Monthly capacity in Taiwan is reported at 500,000 square feet, with 5.1 million square feet in China, says DigiTimes.
 
HannStar is ranked twenty-first on Dr. Hayao Nakahara’s NTI 100 list and is one of the top 10 PCB manufacturers in Taiwan.
