MUNICH – Although Germany’s PCB market showed slight signs of improvement in January, volume was just 60% of that achieved in 2008, reported ZVEI.

Orders for the month were higher due to fewer working days in December, but they were still at substantial price pressures, according to PCB makers.

Incoming orders were less than half the average value of the past several years, said ZVEI.

The book-to-bill ratio improved over December to 0.74 but is reported to be the lowest January value in 16 years.
