TAIPEI, TAIWAN – First-tier PCB manufacturers in Taiwan are stepping up their game in China. Companies are beefing up their presence in the China market, competing for handset orders from white-box vendors, reports DigiTimes.

Demand for the white-box market remains strong in China, despite an overall drop in global handset shipments. According to DigiTimes, Unimicron Technology has attained small orders from three branded handset vendors. In addition, Unitech Printed Circuit Board is starting to see orders arriving at its Shanghai facility.

Orders from international brand vendors should improve during the second quarter, reports DigiTimes. This could cause a slump in China orders as PCB manufacturers focus on regaining the international market.
