Taiwan - Nan Ya
PCB (NPC) has forecast a decline of 15-20% in sales for
the first quarter, amid weak demand for PCBs and PBGA substrates. The
forecasted decline was greater than the previously estimated 5-10% drop
reported by the company a week ago, industry sources claimed.
The company's conventional PCBs, used by Apple iPods and Sony PlayStation 3 game
consoles, are being affected by a slow consumer market. Its PBGA substrate orders are
also down due to low demand from both handset and memory manufacturers, according
to published reports.
The company has estimated that utilization of conventional PCBs and PBGA substrates will
only be 70-75% in the first quarter.
