HESHAN, CHINA – Olympic Circuit Technology has announced plans to invest up to $200 million to build a factory in Thailand to meet demand from existing and potential overseas clients.

The Chinese PCB fabricator said the new facility in Thailand will allow more flexible handling of likely adverse impacts from macro environment fluctuation, adjustments of industry policies, and the international trade landscape.

OCT has two PCB bases in China's southern Guangdong province with an output of 4.2 million sq. m. of various PCB types last year. Prismark's latest ranking of the world's top 40 PCB suppliers placed the company 32nd.

OCT's announcement comes after several other Chinese PCB makers have also announced plans for Thai facilities, with companies pledging between $76 million and $96.8 million in investments in the country since the start of last year.
