TAOYUAN, TAIPEI -- Unimicron Technology's printed circuit board fabrication plant sustained a fire Wednesday that sent at least 10 persons to the hospital.

According to Taiwanese media reports, the three persons included one who reported minor injuries and two who were evacuated by firefighters. Seven firefighters also went to the hospital for possible acid-related burns.

The cause for the fire is under investigation but preliminary findings point to the central air-conditioner room on the first floor.

The company, known locally as Xinxing Electronics, has yet to comment on the extent of the damage and any potential shutdowns.
