ZHONGSHAN, CHINA – The Schmid Group is moving its main China factory to Zhongshan.

The move will take two to three months to avoid disruption to production. The new 10,000 sq. m. site is expected to be 100% operational by November.

The new factory will be named Schmid Technologies Guangdong and will focus on the production of wet-process equipment, as well as automation and furnaces for the electronic and photovoltaic Industry.

Schmid said the decision was made to have a dedicated fab in China outside the free trade zone. The company is increasing local business and decreasing exports.
