BANGKOK – Apex International plans to expand its production capacity here to meet increasing PCB demand for automotive and household electronics applications, according to reports.

This year, the company plans to buy another PCB plant to boost monthly production capacity to 600,000 sq. m. from 500,000 sq. m.

Apex will expand capacity at its existing two plants in Thailand during the second quarter, to grow its monthly PCB capacity to 750,000 sq. m. by the end of the third quarter. The firm’s goal is to eventually expand capacity at the sites to one million sq. m.

March revenues decreased 18.4% year-over-year to NT$823 million (US$27.33 million) and 12.7% sequentially. First quarter revenues fell 8.5% year-over-year to NT$2.6 million.

The company says customers haven’t cut orders due to Covid-19, but orders may be adjusted in the third quarter depending on the impact of the pandemic.
