FREMONT, CA – More than 150 persons attended an open house at Silicon Valley printed circuit board fabricator Bay Area Circuits last month.

This year’s event, the fourth the fabricator has sponsored in as many years, featured solar and electric vehicles on display from three local universities, including CalSol’s solar vehicle from UC Berkeley, UCD Formula Racing’s electric vehicle from UC Davis, and Spartan Racing’s electric vehicle from San Jose State. The vehicles are designed and manufactured by the student teams to compete with other universities in national competitions.

“Supporting education has been an important initiative for us,” said Stephen Garcia, president of Bay Area Circuits. “It was great to provide some of the student groups we sponsor with a venue to show off their efforts, and, I think our customers really enjoyed the opportunity to get their hands on environmentally friendly vehicles.”
