SHANGHAI – More than 100 customers, local dignitaries and employees recently gathered for the official grand opening of the Enthone Shanghai Technical & Manufacturing Center here, the company said.
The $30 million, 10-acre campus in the Fengxian District of Shanghai includes a premier technology center, a raw material and finished goods warehouse, and an advanced manufacturing building.
{articipants included many of the world’s leading OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers to the automotive, electronics, building hardware and surface finishing industries.
At the opening Peter Hill, chairman of Enthone's parent company Alent, pledged the company’s commitment to the China market.
“This state-of-the-art facility will enable us to serve our customers more effectively in meeting the fast changing needs of their markets. We look forward to playing an active role in the local economy, and we are already thinking of expansion,” he said.
The Enthone Shanghai Technical & Manufacturing Center is equipped to meet OEM requirements for wear resistance, corrosion protection and decorative applications, as well as the continued drive toward miniaturization and shrinking devices geometries witnessed throughout the electronics supply chain.
Center features include computer-integrated manufacturing of chemistry that enables customers to manufacture products with optimum reliability, functionality and performance, and applications engineering supported by pilot lines and prototyping technology.
The facility also houses the Enthone Plating Academy, which provides comprehensive classroom and hands-on training to address technology challenges and emerging industry requirements.
