PITTSBURGH -- Ansys said second-quarter net income increased 13% year-over-year on broad-based revenue growth.
Sales reached $232.4 million, up 8.1% year-over-year, and net profits were up 12.7% to $63 million.
The operating margin was down 40 basis points to 35.9%.
"Q2 was a record quarter with revenues at the high end of our guidance range, and earnings above the high end of our range. We are encouraged by the continued progress that we have made in our Asia-Pacific business, as demonstrated by another quarter of double digit revenue growth," said president and chief executive Jim Cashman. " Our results reflect a combination of improved execution in targeted areas of our business, as well as the continuation of softness in certain markets that we highlighted last quarter."
For the quarter ending Sept. 30, Ansys guided for revenue of $231.3 million to $239.3 million.
