ATLANTA, GA – PCD&F today debuted a new website featuring state-of-the-art navigation technology and a sleek new design. PCDandF.com now features more prominent technical content and a novel News Search Engine that ensures all relevant industry news is captured and presented in real time, no matter where on the Web it originates.

“PCDandF.com has always generated impressive traffic,” said Mike Buetow, UPMG vice president and editorial director. “Our goals were to make the site more navigable and user-friendly while also making it more attractive, to develop true user interactivity, and to increase the prominence of our technical articles, which is the main reason readers come to our site.”

A novel feature built exclusively for PCDandF.com is the News Search Engine, which automates the news gathering process. It searches out the sites of industry and international media and the key companies in the printed circuit board industry and grabs any new relevant stories and press releases and pulls them in a la a television “ticker” or “news crawl.”

Social media is integrated into PCDandF.com, displaying recent posts from Facebook and LinkedIn. The popular Board Talk bulletin board, for example, formerly a standalone site, is now integrated into PCDF.com as well.

The site also features improved search capability, navigation and increased content.

Aesthetically, the site features new fonts and colors, and a eye-opening header that broadly announces the top technical stories of the day. To aid navigation, when readers scroll down the page, the menu bar moves with them.

For advertisers, PCDandF.com has an enhanced home page with large ads guaranteed to gain greater exposure, plus the option to tie traditional banner or tile display ads to specific content.

“The new site represents a bold and exciting departure from the standard, flat industry websites,” Buetow said. “It’s much more sophisticated, and represents the state-of-the-art in online publishing. We are looking forward to helping our customers better target and reach their top prospects.

“And if readers and advertisers are thrilled with the new PCFandF.com, they will be blown away with what we are preparing for Phase 2,” Buetow added.
