PITTSBURGH -- Ansys announced third-quarter GAAP revenue of $212.7 million, up from $196.9 million a year ago. GAAP net income was $62.4 million, up 20.9% year-over-year.
Operating profit margin was 38.4% in the quarter, up one percentage point.
President and CEO Jim Cashman said, "North America and Europe experienced double-digit revenue growth in both reported and constant currency for the quarter. Consistent with what other technology companies are experiencing, during the quarter, we continued to see regional weakness in our Asia-Pacific business."
Earnings for the quarter exceeded the high end of company guidance range, while revenues were slightly above the mid-point.
The EDA software provider guided for fourth-quarter revenue of $233.3 million to $239.3 million, and fiscal 2013 sales of of $858.6 million to $864.6 million. For 2014, the company expects revenue of $933.6 million to $963.6 million.
