WILMINGTON, DE -- A Chinese national who pleaded guilty in January to selling pirated software from such companies as Agilent and Ansys was today sentenced to 12 years in jail.
Xiang Li, 36, was sentenced to US prison on copyright and wire fraud conspiracy after officials nabbed him for illegally selling and distributing the software website from his home in China between 2008 and 2011.
Inall, Li is estimated to have sold more than $100 million worth of pirated software. US agents arrested him on the Pacific island of Saipan in 2011.
