PITTSBURGH -- Ansys announced revenue increased 7% year-over-year to $197.7 million for the period ended March 31.

GAAP net income increased 12% to $51 million during the period.

The software company said deferred revenue, backlog balance, and first-quarter cash flows from operations all set records.

The company expects second quarter revenue of $204.6 million to $210.6 million, and 2013 sales of $850.4 million to $870.4 million.
