WILSONVILLE, OR – Mentor's recent quarter was buffeted by strength across its printed circuit board tools, company executives said.

On a conference call last Friday with analysts, Mentor said each of its CAD suites were seeing strong demand. The IC and PCB design software company last week reported net earnings of $15.3 million on record revenues of $238.9 million for its fiscal third-quarter ended Oct. 31.

Asked whether Mentor is seeing increased seasonality in its printed circuit board business, president Gregory Hinckley said the enterprise tools did well in terms of renewals during the third quarter and the fourth quarter will be even stronger. He added that the company's shrinkwrap suite, Pads, has seen consistent growth.

"The ready-to-use PADs software [has] been strong all year long," he said.
