BANNOCKBURN, IL –  Abstracts are being sought for the annual academic poster competition at the IPC Apex trade show next year.

The event takes place April 6-8, in Las Vegas.

Students at accredited U.S. and international colleges and universities are invited to submit abstracts of 100 to 300 words, summarizing technical and previously unpublished noncommercial work that covers case histories, research and discoveries. Submissions must be received by January 15.

Poster submissions are sought in the areas of: design; embedded passive and active devices; flex circuitry; high frequency; lead-free issues; PCB fabrication; rework and repair; RFID circuitry; SMT assembly; test and inspection; printed electronics; package-on-package assembly; and solar cell assembly.

A technical committee will review the entries, posting the passing submissions on the APEX website. Industry technologists will be invited to vote for the best posters based on innovation, timeliness of the work and applicability to industry needs.

The 10 posters receiving the most votes will be displayed at the show, with attendees and exhibitors voting for the top three. Winners will be announced April 7, with cash awards of $500-$3,000.
