DARMSTADT, GERMANY – Computer Simulation Technology (CST) has announced the winners of the CST University Publication Award. The annual grant rewards university institutes and researchers for work in 3D EM field simulation.
 
To qualify for consideration, papers must be authored or co-authored by academic researchers and published in scientific journals or conference proceedings. Numerical results must be obtained by simulation using CST software products. This year, an award for short papers was introduced.
 
“We were delighted with the quality and diversity of papers this year,” says Dr. Martin Timm, marketing director. “The entries for both traditional and short paper awards have offered invaluable insight into leading areas of research and help us understand the demands being made of our software.”
 
Winners are: Yan Li, Jeff Hand, Tim Wills and Jo Hajnal, “Numerically-Simulated Induced Electric Field and Current Density Within a Human Model Located Close to a Z-Gradient Coil,”; Andrea Alù and Nader Engheta, “Cloaking and Transparency for Collections of Particles with Metamaterial and Plasmonic Covers,”; Giuseppe Ruvio, Max Ammann and Zhi Ning Chen, “Wideband Reconfigurable Rolled Planar Monopole Antenna,”; and A. Canova, G. Gruosso and B. Vusini, “Electromagnetic Modeling of Resistance Spot Welding System.” 
 
The short paper award was presented to Alejandro Lucas Borja, Peter Hall, Qing Liu and Hideo Iizuka for “Omnidirectional Loop Antenna with Left-Handed Loading.”
