SAN FRANCISCO – SnapEDA is now supporting the latest KiCad format, according to reports.

KiCad v. 4 includes native software support of slotted holes and proper use of the KiCad layer for PCB footprints.

Designers can directly download the new .kicad_mod format. In addition, there is now only one .kicad_mod file per footprint. The library is represented by a folder (.pretty) that can contain a number of .kicad_mod footprint files.

To add a library, click preferences in the footprint editor and manage footprint libraries, or to add a single library, use “File” and click on “Add Library.”
